M\u00e1s que una modificaci\u00f3n posterior, estas piezas se fabricaron en origen para que no tuvieran ning\u00fan s\u00edmbolo. Fueron tra\u00eddas a Turqu\u00eda por inmigrantes turcos procedentes de Bulgaria y r\u00e1pidamente se convirtieron en un elemento b\u00e1sico de la Asociaci\u00f3n de Ajedrez de Estambul (\u0130SD) a partir de 1965.
