Alquerque, descritto nelle sue pagine, \u00e8 l'evoluzione europea di un antico gioco di strategia conosciuto nel mondo arabo come \u201cEl-Qirkat\u201d, con radici che risalgono all'antico Egitto. Nella Spagna del XIII secolo, Alquerque \u00e8 stata la testimonianza di come gli studiosi cristiani, musulmani ed ebrei abbiano collaborato per collegare le conoscenze dell'Oriente con quelle dell'Occidente.<\/p><p><b>Il percorso della dama<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span>Giocato con 12 pezzi ciascuno su una griglia 5\u00d75, Alquerque \u00e8 il luogo di nascita della meccanica del \u201csalto di cattura\u201d, che \u00e8 la regola fondamentale della moderna Dama. Alla fine del XV secolo, quando queste regole dinamiche furono trasferite sulla scacchiera 8\u00d78, nacque il gioco della \u201cDama\u201d come lo conosciamo oggi.
