Boleh diandaikan bahawa melalui hubungan ini, budaya rumah kopi Austria dan set catur biasa gaya Rumah Kopi Vienna turut menemui jalan mereka ke Kerajaan Romania selatan, di mana set ini digunakan pada awal abad ke-20. Set ini diperbuat daripada kayu berpusing, satu sisi berwarna asli manakala sisi satu lagi disalut lak hitam. Ia mempamerkan beberapa ciri reka bentuk yang biasa ditemui pada set Vienna yang disebut tadi, terutamanya mahkota ratu yang berbentuk seperti topi, bidak dengan kepala berbentuk bola dalam warna bertentangan atau bidak menara yang kukuh. Apa yang menarik terutamanya ialah bentuk raja yang tidak biasa, di mana mahkotanya di bahagian atas menyempit menjadi hiasan puncak yang memanjang dan bertutup dengan bola kecil, seolah-olah bidak kecil duduk di atas mahkota raja. Set ini menunjukkan beberapa tanda penggunaan intensif. Beberapa buah catur nampaknya telah diganti, tetapi ini tidak menjejaskan keseluruhan kesan.
