Piesele de filde\u0219 din secolele VII-VIII descoperite la situl Afrasiyab din Samarkand reprezint\u0103 cel mai vechi set de \u0219ah cunoscut. Aceste figurine detaliate ofer\u0103 o imagine figurativ\u0103 a r\u0103d\u0103cinilor jocului din Asia Central\u0103, prezent\u00e2nd Turnul ca un car cu mai mul\u021bi cai, cavalerul ca un cavaler cu scut \u0219i un Alfil c\u0103lare pe un elefant \u00eempreun\u0103 cu mai multe piese de pion.
